The proprietary formulation and manufacturing process
of SyDERMA® with its combination of a specifically chosen skin
protectant, antimicrobial, and other ingredients, work together in a unique
way to help protect exposed skin from harmful, external environmental
irritants and to significantly reduce the risk of cross contamination
and infection from bacteria commonly found on the skin. A complete explanation
of its effectiveness against common strands of bacteria in laboratory
tests and the laboratory test protocols is contained in the Safety and
Efficacy Test Results section of this booklet. These test results are
provided by certified laboratories engaged in testing products of this
nature for environmental, food and beverage services, pharmaceutical markets,
law and regulatory agencies.
When allowed to completely dry on the skin surface, SyDERMA®
forms a non-ionic, hydrophobic barrier. The ingredients in SyDERMA®
combine to provide a layer of protection against the possible penetration
of bacteria and other contaminates onto the skin. Further protection
against bacterial and contamination invasion is provided by the naturally
occurring bonding of SyDERMA® with the cellular structure
of the skin, while at the same time, allowing the skin to perspire and
breathe naturally. These combined mechanical and antibacterial properties
of SyDERMA® work together to provide an excellent line of
protection against possible bacterial and environmental contamination.
